Peter Cottontail didn't get here till round 9 that morning, and unfortunately the boys wouldn't stay in their room past 7:30. I blame school! well I wasn't feeling well but something had to be done, so I pushed Nate outta bed and said/mumbled "go do something with them" thinking he'd get them breakfast while I slept a little longer trying to make me feel a little better. WRONG! he took them out for a drive. not to breakfast just on a drive. you know, I love my husband but sometimes I don't get him. I'd...i mean Peter...had everything ready, it just needed to be placed in buckets, till i remembered EGGS... we hadn't colored any...and I hadn't/i mean peter hadn't brought any for filling of plastic ones. most of this was the night before that peter and I realized this when my wonderful hubby said "don't worry Hon, I already got some!" It wasn't till after they were gone and Peter was helping me fill those plastic eggs that I thought "curses! we should have done this the night before!" so anyways, it was after i had finished filling the eggs when Nate pulled up with the boys, the house had eggs strewn about in a haphazard fashion, but it was a beautiful day out and I just couldn't let the opportunity of a outdoors hunt go by. so while Joe and Ben were thinking that I was asleep, I banged on the window and mouthed to Nate "NOT YET!!" "don't come in!" with big hand gestures and head shaking, but with the blinds being only partly opened he didn't quite get the drift, thankfully the boys weren't paying attention while i pulled the blinds up and continued my hand gestures and head shaking.
So at 8:30 in the morning while most people might have been waking up or peacefully slumbering in their beds, my ingenious husband took our kids on a brisk walk around the neighborhood. and when I say brisk I mean 35-45 degrees brisk.
but thankfully that gave me and Peter just enough time to dash out of the house clothed in full plaid PJ's and hide those recently filled eggs.
well enough of the story telling and onto the photos!
at least Joe was happy with his parachute bunny and silly putty
