yeah for birthdays!!!

So our most of our birthdays have been this month and were all very happy with the wonderful phone calls that we've recieved or missed but listened to on our answering machine. Me having turned another year older, am hoping to be a little bit wiser this year, I had such a wonderful birthday all in part to my friends, and my loving husband.

On Sunday Joey got a birthday cake mix and 1 candle from the Primary and he was insistint on having us make it for him. he wouldn't even wait for us to frost his cake before he cut himself a slice and ate it. so here's his cake with the 1 candle lit and a slice cut out. he also tore it in half trying to lift it off the plate to eat if for dinner, but I'm not that nice, no cake for dinner.

Unfortunatly my birthday started off on the rocky side with a headache but when Nate said that he needed to take the boys(yes BOTH of them) I started feeling a little better so my morning was spent quietly alone. Then I was told, when they got home that I needed to leave by myself, I was a little depressed but quickly turned my frown upside-down by thinking "hey I could go out to that restraunt that Nate doesn't like and eat something that would bother him, that I'd been wanting to try-sushi. I had had a bite of a friends at her home months ago and liked it and I wondered if I still would if she wasn't there holding my hand. So I called her up, to see if she could fit me in her schedule for lunch, but no luck, so I tried another friend who's also a stay-at-home mom. she said that she wasn't ready to go out yet, but if I wanted to get take out and bring it over to her place we could watch a movie. so that's what I did. I went to her house after getting my sushi and a chicken bowl(just in case I was chicken) and had lunch with her as we watched the movie Thumbelina. I hadn't seen this movie for many years so it was fun to watch, I especially enjoyed the bird "yacapo" he's a bird with a French accent :) If you have little girls I'd recommend this movie to you. Joey's actually the one who picked it out, probably for the guy on the picture who had a sword, right now it's all about the swords. Then after that movie was over we wanted to watch another movie but I wanted to give Ben back to Nate and have an all girl party at Druceal's house, so going home I went upstairs and Nate had transformed my home into this. Notes and records hanging from the ceiling inflatable instruments to play.Nate had chosen a Rock-n-roll theme for my party, and had decorated acordingly. though at times I wasn't sure if I needed a poodle skirt or not he reassured me that it was all for the rock-n-roll theme not 50's. He had rented a xbox 360 and had borrowed the game RockBand just for this night, so here we are Rockin out. Druceal's on the drums, Jami's screaming into the mic, and nate's jammin. all in all we had a good night, even though Jami had to leave early, Druceal's hubby was able to take her place and fill a slot in our band. it was really fun.

Nate also wanted me to mention that while the boys and I were away this was what he was able to do. and he was so proud of himself that he had to take a picture. this is the blitzkrieg bop by the ramones and he's gotten 5 stars and 100% on the guitar. though I believe the game was on medium level, not hard.

Next came Joe's birthday. Lynne and LaMar were coming just for Joey. We had the party at my friend Amy's house. I invited Druceal and her little girl Lillian, Carmen & kids Eliza, Henry, and Baby June, Jami and her Annabelle and Amy and her kids, Ally, Kathrine, Drew, Annie, Daphne, and Cassie. Cassie was born the same day as Ben neat stuff huh? Thanks to Kookie and her ideas I wasn't too dopey in my planning the party, the best part about amy's house is that her basement has a door to the stairs, after the snacks of pb&j and fruit & veggies, they played down there for an hour, and all the adults upstairs were commenting every few minutes about how quiet it was in the room:) I'm gonna have a playroom like that in my house.

Finally one of the kids remembered that I had a game to play so they came and asked to play it. it was musical balloons, musicaly chairs only they choose a balloon to step/put a hand on. We had a more kid friendly game where instead of taking out a balloon one of the adults would choose a # and whatever number the balloon was the kids with their hands on the balloon would get a prize. Joey's favorite balloon was the blue balloon, and he would get mad if anyone else was touching it. it was kinda cute but everytime someone else would lay a hand on it he would break out in tears, so that got old real fast.

Finally it was time for the cake. Now you would think that with 3 birthdays 5 days apart we would get sick and tired of birthday cake. and your right! we do but for my birthday we didn't do cake we did pie, a Pizza pie, so for joe's we weren't caked out yet, the cake was enough for everyone to have nice big slices with none left over, I think that was my favorite part, and lots of jolly kids and friends to spend it with. Joey loved the presents he got. Thanks Gaggie and Ba for the legos, Eliza and Henry for the coloring book and Spiderman socks, christensen kids for the president coins, and mom and dad for the dalmatian movie, and all our family far away who called us on our birthdays and for the cards too. Ohh the funniest thing, we weren't home to get one of the phone calls from our family so they left us a message of them singing happy birthday to Joe on the phone, I played it for Joe and he started saying thanks and singing along with them like they were really on the phone! it was hillarious! Joey still gets out his legos and plays with them everyday, which is very exciting though most of the things he builds are guns or space ships with guns, o well he's a little boy. what ya gonna do. tommorow's nate's birthday and i don't have an idea what to do. well i best think of something make sure you wish him a happy birthday.
